About
Architect, Doctoral Research Candidate, Artist
Above all else, I wish to be completely immersed in my imagination. I see myself as both a curator and storyteller throughout my work, desperate to make physical the world in my mind. As an architect, fashion-designer, as an artist – I design experiences from the inside-out, starting with my own curiosity.

Lorena Knezevic is a licensed architect, artist, and researcher whose work resides at the intersection of design, technology, and creativity. A LEED AP professional and full-time architect at Gensler, Lorena is currently pursuing a Doctor of Design degree at Florida International University. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor and Master of Architecture from the University of Miami, where her thesis on "The Architecture of Augmented Reality (AR)" led to speaking engagements at MIT Media Lab’s AR in Action Summit and Hackathons at Milan Design Week.

Lorena’s research focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) in architecture, exploring how these technologies can preserve and enhance the designer’s intuition while redefining the boundaries of design services. Her work investigates the balance between technical precision and human creativity, with an emphasis on how these tools can create more intuitive, human-centered design processes.

As an artist, Lorena’s practice spans immersive VR experiences, instinctual single-line drawings, and textured oil paintings created with palette knives. Her work often reflects the tension between spontaneity and structure, capturing the duality of release and precision. Self-taught in fashion design, she debuted her first collection at 16 and went on to present at multiple fashion weeks, gaining national media attention and collaborating with top fashion ateliers on commissioned illustrations.

Lorena’s multifaceted career bridges academia and practice, art and architecture, and physical and digital mediums. She is dedicated to exploring the synergy between innovation and intuition, crafting work that redefines how we experience and shape the world around us.
